Partnering with Children with Disabilities in Uganda

The Mukisa School is a Christian school in Kampala, Uganda for children with disabilities, founded in September 2007. It is currently serving fourteen students in the Mukisa School program, with more on the waiting list. In Uganda, families of children with disabilities are greatly stigmatized by society. It is often believed that children with disabilities are cursed, and mothers and their children are often abandoned by family members and left to fend for themselves. Mukisa, which means "blessing" in the local language, was established to give hope and tangible support to those who are overlooked within their society. There are many ways to support Mukisa School. Join us in an effort to help restore dignity to those who are in need.
